Canvas
This operation is used to change image size without scaling it. The size may
be reduced by cropping image edges according to a selected algorithm, or increased
by adding margins of a selected color to the image. Canvas operation settings
are adjusted with the help of several value boxes.
Width – enter image or margin width (depending on the selected
mode).
Height - enter image or margin height (depending on the selected
mode).
Relative – switch between the modes.
Anchor – this dropdown list contains all possible values of
crop or margin image side.
Border Color – this dropdown list contains margin colors. The
default values are transparent, black and white, but you can call the standard
color selection dialog from the list. All colors selected by the user during
the current session are added to the list.

Canvas operation can be performed in two modes. The first (relative
checkbox is inactive) lets you work with the image itself. If the image is larger
than needed, it is cropped according to the selected value of Anchor
box. If the image is smaller, a border of the selected color is added to the
image according to the selected value of Anchor box. If one side of
the image is smaller than the needed size, and the other side is larger, the
former will be equipped with a border while the latter will be cropped. This
Canvas operation mode is optimal to automatically unify size of different images.

The second mode (relative checkbox is active) lets you select border
size. Initial image size will remain the same, and a border is added to the
image according to user-defined width and height and Anchor box value.

Example of usage
Canvas operation will help if you want to publish many images of different
size on the Web and have to unify their size (reduce larger images and increase
smaller ones) without scaling them.
